D2 - rework the weapons (Updated Wednesday November, 9 /2023)

Image
I have tried to make this suggestion, and many others (respectfully I might add) no no avail.  Unfortunately Bungie has yet to respond in depth.  I guess they're either not interested or didn't have the time to read though it all.  OR perhaps they just didn't like what I had to say (although I can't imagine why 🤷‍♂️).  My ideas would ABSOLUTELY improve Destiny.  I'm confident of that. ..but you be the judge. Anyway.. If it were up to me, to improve D2 significantly, I'd start by entirely removing leveling from weapons. Please, just hear me out. We'd of course still have to level our armour, but guns would adopt a more efficient mechanic. I'll explain. Leveling every gun each season is currently not only redundant and inconvenient, but actually counterproductive. It only serves to add to the unwanted grind.  General grinding is certainly fine; don't get me wrong.. That's of course part of the game after all, but you've got to admit, when you ...

Network manipulation, vs. LAG, vs. Latency: I'll attempt to break it down in the simplest terms to keep this as short as possible.  - Network manipulation (lag switching in particular), is typically accomplished by using outside influences. Generally a device that periodically interrupts consistent data flow. It can be seen clearly in characters hopping, and blinking rapidly to nearby locations. - Lag is when there is either server overload, or your home or personal isp connection/device has line errors, or hardware inadequacy.  It can often be noticeable via character freezing, slowed responses, and/or inconsistent visual and audio cues. - Latency is the worst one however, and coincidentally the hardest to pin-point as it is usually only visible on the end of the affected individual. It's also the most complicated, and often occurs as a result of distance or server inefficiencies. For example.. If you're in the United States, and I'm in Canada (which I am), p2p connect...

Bungie..uh, what???

Regarding this: https://www.vg247.com/2020/04/24/destiny-2-ban-for-getting-help-from-cheaters/ ____ My response: Sooo, if we're unknowingly complicit, we're still guilty? 🤔 When did D2 become a court of law? To me, guilty by association labels in a game that spans the globe, with people of all ages and intelligence levels, is absurd. How can they justify banning people for being naive? Furthermore, how can they conclusively prove a person isn't merely naive, when they themselves have proven they can't even determine if you've left a match intentionally, or were booted due to their inadequate server load capacity/capability?   Besides, Bungie has admitted more than once that their main source of player information comes not from server data, but social media outlets and streaming/video services. That can't possibly yeild enough evidence to make rational case-by-case decisions. ..and without clear evidence it'll just end up being a ban fest. 🤦‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ Even ...

Destiny 2 - Raid concept

Image
Note: Please keep in mind that I began this concept when the traveller was damaged, but I still believe it could make a great raid/story addition. ____ Devouring cell: The light is just residual power eminating through the walls of the Traveller.  An energy we utilize through proximity. As it turns out, the Traveller isn't really a living entity after all, but a type of machinery created with a technology developed by an ancient, extinct civilization.  A race that created the sphere, in order to mimic a planet, as it imprisons a seemingly immortal monster that consumes worlds to grow stronger. ..but the beast itself is merely a part of a larger story. A realization actually. As this incarcerated creature is quite simply a defence system against infected cells (planets/galaxies), inhabited by viral life like us, that is considered to be immensely destructive to the celestial being we're actually within (this universe). The multiverse is really just more celestial beings, and th...

To Bungie: Destiny 2 ideas (Updated - Wednesday, January 21/2026)

Image
Before we begin I just want to say that as time passes, ideas are added, and changes are made to Destiny..  I will attempt to alter/amend this list, or at least add a note below any affected ideas indicating they're either no longer necessary, or have recently been implemented or addressed.  I will always keep the idea in the list for reference though.  Okay, that said.. I now have a few additional things to say. Alright maybe more than just a few.  Maybe a LOT more.  ..but please keep in mind that I only have these big and small concepts/ideas, because I've invested a LOT playing Destiny since day 1 - D1 Alpha, and despite any gripes I have, I still absolutely want Destiny to improve and succeed beyond any expectations.  ..because it can, and because in my opinion it still has the potential to not only become better, but virtually untouchable in the genre.  Even now.  I'm confident of this.  Especially if Bungie chooses to be objective, and ...
